Prez Obama addresses the Chamber of Commerce

I’ve heard all types of negativity about Obama in the past. I’ve actually heard him called the anti Christ. WTF?? I don't claim to be any type of politician or know economics one bit but I must say I walked away from this speech today inspired which I’m pretty sure was the overall goal. "Hard work should be rewarded". Although it's not rocket science I feel like there are too many people whining about the economy and how they can’t find a job rather than doing something about it. Create your own job was the theme that I took from his speech today.

There was a point in time while I was still figuring out the real estate industry and how the heck this whole thing worked that I created my own jobs and jobs for my friends. For a few months in my 20's I was holding onto a moving truck for a friend. While actively pursuing a career in real estate with no start up funds I supported myself and a couple of my friends by doing moving jobs advertising online. I never got a dba or business license or paid taxes but it wasn’t my passion either and I knew it was temporary. Eventually the moving truck went back to its owner and I needed a new revenue stream. I figured out how to paint and advertised online and would to random paint jobs that made me way more than any other job that I went to with a jerk face boss nagging me about staying past my lunch break 2 minutes. No thanks.

Free enterprise. That's the ticket. Obama discussed the US and shipping jobs overseas and urged CEO's and companies to bring the jobs home. I must say I don’t really agree with this point of view. If you can hire someone to do a job for not only less but better why wouldn’t you. I don’t know maybe I’m wrong here. The President also touched on revising the patent system in hopes to speed up startup companies gets their feet off the ground. I don’t know much about the patent process but speeding it up can’t be a bad thing. High speed internet for 80% of the corporations and large companies is a promise that was made for the future then he added that the US infrastructure is inadequate. Other countries are more advanced and already using high speed internet.

Look. I don’t claim to know what I’m talking about here or act like I know but the bottom line is I walked away ready to crush today. I like Obama. I can’t be mad at a guy that walked into a pile of Bush deuce and ran with it. All I hear and get chain emails about is how Obama is responsible for the stock market crash, the economy etc...I don’t get that impression at all. And for the little I know about the health care plan that everyone's huffing and puffing about all I know is I don’t have coverage currently. Mainly because I have barbed wire for DNA and eat colds for breakfast but I am only a man. A human carved from granite but a man nonetheless. So whatever bro. Go hate your countries president, just keep your mutiny out of my face!

  1. way to come around to your sensibilities. dont believe anything you hear, especially from the major news corporations-- they are ALL backed by corporate interests. fox is the worst, but cnn and msnbc arent guilt-free either. theres still nothing like picking up a couple books from each side of the argument and drawing your own conclusions. america, fuck yeah.
